Chattahoochee Hills Charter School Update
From: Monica Olsen, Outreach Coordinator. August 6, 2010Chattahoochee Hills Charter School Petition Delivered to State Charter Commission!
CHCS Planning Chair Russ Kiefer hand delivered our petition to the Georgia Charter School Commission on Friday, July 30th!! Read the petition to learn more about the proposed CHCS at our website: http://www.chatthills.org/chcs.htm.
An incredible amount of work that went into developing and perfecting the petition and we want to thank everyone who worked on the major ‘push’ to finish that took place over the past few weeks. Dozens of people helped out, putting in tireless hours to this heroic effort petitioning for the proposed new charter school for the families of Chattahoochee Hills and the greater Chattahoochee Hill Country.
We want to specifically highlight the incredible efforts of compiling and completing the charter petition by Laurie Searle, who spent countless hours and went above and beyond the call of duty!
We will be awaiting the state's response that will include discussions and interviews this fall. The commission will then vote on the petition by December of this year. Stay tuned as we move forward with more fundraising and community events this fall.
A huge thank-you to everyone who worked with and supported us through these past months!
